What You Will See on Your Ticket
- Shows the ticket number and the date the ticket was issued. This is important, fines increase if the ticket is not paid within ten days.
- Where the ticket was issued (lot and row number) and the make of the vehicle receiving the ticket.
- The permit number (if any) that was displayed in the vehicle, the license plate number of the vehicle and the state in which the plate was issued.
- Shows the time of day the ticket was issued.
- Gives the type of violation.
- This will indicate if the ticket is a warning or will give the fine amount for the violation. If the ticket is a warning no further action is required by you but you should read the remarks at the bottom of the ticket. These remarks will list why the ticket was issued and, in the case of a warning, tell you what you must do to avoid getting another ticket in the future.
- If there is a fine amount, this fine will increase with time. The ticket shows the schedule of the fine increases and the amount the fine will increase. Please note, you should take care of the ticket as soon as you can in order to avoid any increases in the fine. If someone tells you they will take care of the ticket for you, it is advisable that you check with Commuter Services to make sure they didn't forget.
- Tells you on what date the fine increases will start. This is 10 calendar days after the ticket was issued (see line 1). Calendar days include weekends and holidays.
- If completed, this gives you additional information about the ticket. It can tell you why you got a warning (if you got a warning ticket), or further explain the reason why the ticket was issued.
